Community Therapeutic Services

Our therapy team at Villa Anna Teresa is available to support you in various ways.  Our Allied Health Professionals, such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Podologists, Speech Language Therapists and others, are available to provide a range of services in the comfort of your own home.

Services include:

  • Assessments of your therapeutic needs
  • Environmental assessments – these can be used for introducing adaptive equipment as well as to submit applications for subsidies towards the use of such equipment
  • Personal one-to-one therapeutic sessions according to your specific needs

Occupational Therapy– The Occupational Therapist will work with you in order to maximise your independence and enjoyment of life.  Through advice and therapeutic interventions, they will help you adapt your environment to suit your needs, while helping you develop, recover and retain skills you need to continue living a fulfilling life.

Physiotherapist–  The physiotherapist’s goal is to improve a patient’s mobility, function, and overall well-being. Physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness are all benefits of physiotherapy. Apart from helping you overcome the pain, it can also help you expand your physical strength and overcome any dysfunction caused by an illness, injury or condition.

Podologist- The podologist will assist with issues affecting your lower legs or feet. S/he can assist you with injuries as well as help prevent complications resulting from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, through various testing and therapeutic interventions. Podologists also assist with circulatory foot problems, skin and nail infections, warts, ulcers etc.  They are also experts in foot biomechanics and will work specifically on the creation of tailor-made insoles etc.

Speech and language therapistsThe therapist provides assessment, treatment, support and care for clients who have difficulties with communication, eating, drinking and swallowing. Clients who benefit from the services of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) include those whose speech is slow to develop, older people whose ability to speak has been impaired by illness or injury, as well as those who have difficulty with eating or swallowing for various reasons.  The SLP can also advise on the use of Assistive Communication Devices which can help the individual communicate better with those around him.
